Knoxville Welcomes Spellbound Vintage: A Treasure Trove for Vintage Lovers!

Have you heard the exciting news coming out of Knoxville? The city has just opened a brand-new vintage shop that’s sure to become a favorite among locals and visitors alike. Welcome to Spellbound Vintage, the brainchild of two talented ladies, Abby Hamilton and Gracie Terry. These two friends have taken their passion for all things cool, old, and thrifted to a whole new level with the opening of their very first storefront.

Location, Location, Location!

Located at 716 S. Gay Street, in the basement of The Holistic Connection, this nifty little haven is not just another vintage shop. To enter, you do need to be 21 or older, which gives it a unique vibe. Once you step inside, however, you’ll find a world filled with unique goodies. The space was previously reserved for events like music and comedy shows, but thanks to Abby and Gracie’s creativity, it has been transformed into a vintage wonderland adorned with striking murals by local artists, including the talented Madi Howarth.

Meet the Founders

So, who exactly are the magicians behind this delightful venture? Abby and Gracie both have deep roots in the Knoxville area. Abby, with a degree in photography from the University of Tennessee, brings a creative flair that’s evident in the shop’s decor. She spent seven years in interior design and has worked in retail, fueling her passion for sustainable shopping. She realized it was time to shift focus away from the fast fashion trends that loom over today’s consumer habits.

Gracie, on the other hand, hails from Oak Ridge (note the two words and capital letters!) and graduated with a psychology degree. She’s had a longstanding love affair with second-hand fashion and home decor, dreamily hoping to share her thrifted treasures with a wider audience. Their paths crossed through mutual friends, leading to a partnership that felt just right for both of them.

A Thrifter’s Paradise

Abby and Gracie’s mission is clear: they want to share their love of vintage with the community. They’ve curated a collection that includes everything from unique, handmade items to name-brand clothing, stunning jewelry, and bags. An exciting part of their business model is featuring art from local creators on consignment. It’s a great opportunity for artists to showcase their work in a space bursting with personality!

As artists themselves, you might even discover some of Abby and Gracie’s own creations tucked away in the shop. They emphasize the importance of supporting local talents, and they can’t wait to provide a platform for artists to sell their work, whether it’s just one piece or an entire collection.

More Than Just Shopping

But Spellbound Vintage is not merely about sales. The duo has designed the shop with versatility in mind. With displays on wheels, they have the flexibility to transform the space for more than just shopping. They plan to hold yoga and art classes, along with music, comedy, and various community events. It’s all about creating a space where creativity and community can thrive!
