Exciting News from Knoxville: Reba McEntire’s New Sitcom, “Happy’s Place,” Hits the Screen!

There’s a buzz in the air in Knoxville, Tennessee, as the Queen of Country, Reba McEntire, gears up to bring her new sitcom, Happy’s Place, to life! That’s right, fans of Reba will soon get a chance to see her shine in a fresh, exciting setting that she knows quite well. In a recent interview, Reba charmingly shared that she’s been to Knoxville “lots of times” and has a dear friend who lives there. “I’ve been to Knoxville performing lots of times too. So, visiting and even little vacations down there. That’s a beautiful part of the country,” she reflected.

Mark Your Calendar for October 18!

The highly anticipated sitcom is scheduled to premiere on October 18 at 8 p.m. and fans can hardly wait to see Reba once again on their screens. And what’s even more exciting? The show is filled with iconic nods to Knoxville itself! Screeners reveal Reba’s character enveloped by University of Tennessee logos, with a standout “Power T” prominently displayed in a restaurant scene. How fun is that?

In this delightful new series, we follow Bobbie, played by Reba, who finds herself navigating unexpected family ties when she inherits her father’s restaurant. As if that wasn’t enough of a twist, she discovers that her business partner will be none other than Isabella, a half-sister she was completely unaware of until reading her father’s will. The talented Belissa Escobedo, known for her roles in Hocus Pocus 2 and Blue Beetle, will bring Isabella to life. And let’s just say, their chemistry on set is enchanting!

A Warm and Heartfelt Comedy

In a heartfelt moment, Escobedo described the set as “a space already filled with so much love, and stories and companionship.” Can you imagine how delightful and cozy it must feel to be part of that environment, especially with Reba making everything brighter? In Reba’s own words, “It’s gonna be that heartfelt, fun, funny, laugh at our silliness. But also, [you’ll] be touched with the heart in our show.” Who can resist a promise like that?

Reuniting with a Familiar Face

In an inspiring twist of fate, Melissa Peterman is making her comeback alongside Reba, playing a bartender who is especially close to Bobbie. This duo previously lit up the screen in the early-2000s sitcom Reba, where Peterman brought life to the character of a dental hygienist embroiled in a complicated love affair. Their collaboration has continued on other projects like Young Sheldon, Working Class, and The Hammer, and fans are excited to see their chemistry reignite.

A Special Guest Appearance

And here’s another delightful tidbit: the show will also feature Reba’s off-screen boyfriend, who will portray a short-order cook to add more flavor—and humor—to the restaurant atmosphere. Described as a patriarchal figure with a twist reminiscent of the previous owner, we’re sure he’ll bring a special touch to the series.

Where to Watch “Happy’s Place”

Don’t forget to mark your calendars! If you want to catch Happy’s Place, tune in on NBC on October 18. And for those who prefer streaming, it will be available on Peacock TV starting October 19. We can’t wait to experience the laughter, love, and heartwarming moments that Reba and her crew are sure to deliver!

So, get ready, Knoxville! Your city is about to become the backdrop for a charming new sitcom you won’t want to miss!
