Hey there, Knoxville! We have some concerning news that unfolded last night at a popular bar in our city. An investigation is currently underway at the BucketHead Tavern after an incident that left a 61-year-old man from Florida injured. The Knoxville Police Department (KPD) is on the case, and they’re reaching out for your help!
It was around 10:30 PM on October 16 when the police received calls about shots fired in the parking lot of the bar, located on Ray Mears Boulevard. When officers arrived, they found the victim had been shot multiple times.
Fortunately, he was rushed to the University of Tennessee Medical Center, where doctors say his injuries, while serious, are not expected to be life-threatening. That’s definitely a relief to hear, but it doesn’t make the situation any less alarming for the rest of us!
According to KPD, the victim had just exited the tavern when he was approached at gunpoint by not one, but at least two unidentified suspects. It seems like a bold move by the robbers, as they shot the man and then fled the scene in his vehicle—a striking red Caddy XT6.
For those curious, the victim’s car was found abandoned just this morning on Atlantic Avenue. It’s really troubling that these suspects are still on the run, and the police are urging anyone who might have seen something to come forward.
Even if you think your information is small or insignificant, it could be just what the police need. If you have any details or tips regarding the incident, don’t hesitate to reach out.
