Exciting Times Ahead for Greeneville: Annual Beef Expo Set for October 17!

Greeneville is buzzing with excitement as the annual Northeast Tennessee Beef Expo, presented by the University of Tennessee Institute of Agriculture, is right around the corner. Mark your calendars for October 17, 2024, as this is an event you won’t want to miss! But wait, there’s a minor update regarding the venue due to ongoing flood relief efforts in the area.

New Venue, Same Great Experience

For those who might be wondering, the expo has moved to the Clyde Austin 4-H Center, located at 214 4-H Lane in Greeneville. Don’t worry! This new location is just a short distance away from the original venue, the Northeast Tennessee AgResearch and Education Center.

This year’s Expo promises to be enriching and informative for all beef producers. With the expertise of professionals from the UT Extension, UT AgResearch, and other industry partners, producers will gain insight into the latest research and practices in beef production. Featured speakers include the nationally recognized Paige Pratt and her husband, Jason, from Pratt Cattle Company. They will share valuable lessons from their experiences as successful business owners and Angus cattle producers.

Topics of Discussion

Attendees can look forward to a variety of informative presentations covering essential topics such as:

  • Fire Ants in Pastures
  • Controlling Callery Pear, Locusts, and Brambles
  • Hayfield Management: Johnsongrass Control and Forage Quality
  • Maintaining a 12-month Calving Interval from Cow and Bull Perspectives
  • Feeder Calf Health Problems
