Exciting News for North Knoxville: New Plant and Wine Businesses on the Horizon!

North Knoxville is buzzing with excitement as the owner of Oglewood Avenue, Jade Adams, gears up to launch not one, but two new spots at 15 Emory Place, the former home of Pivot Point Art Gallery. If you’re a plant lover or a wine enthusiast, there’s plenty to celebrate!

Jade’s Journey: From Microbiology to Plants and More

Originally hailing from Nashville, Jade has a background in microbiology and chemistry from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville (UTK). She initially had her sights set on medical school but took a different path when the pandemic hit and life threw her a curveball with a personal loss. Instead of white coats, she embraced her passion for plants, starting with around 300 plants in her home. Fast forward to October 2020, and her dream became reality with the launch of her brick-and-mortar shop, Oglewood Avenue, which quickly blossomed into a beloved destination!

Dylan Pacifico: A Perfect Match

Alongside Jade is her fiancé, Dylan Pacifico. Originally from California, Dylan moved to Knoxville during high school and graduated from UTK with a degree in Supply Chain Management. After working in Charlotte, he now operates remotely for Campbell Soup. The couple met five years ago, bonding over their shared passion for entrepreneurship, which has now led to their next adventure.

What’s New? Introducing Mother Shop and Mother Bar!

Let’s dive into the juicy details about their new ventures! First up is Mother Shop, situated on the upper floor of the building. This unique retail space will be a treasure trove for anyone in search of gifts and goods, offering a delightful mix of items such as purses, totes, candles, apparel, home décor, jewelry, pottery, pillows, and blankets. The shop will be divided into three distinct rooms to create a fun shopping experience: one for personal items, another for gift items, and the last dedicated exclusively to apparel. Jade is looking forward to opening Mother Shop by the first or second week of March, with inventory already starting to flow thanks to relationships with various vendors.

Relax and Unwind at Mother Bar

But the excitement doesn’t stop there! The downstairs space, known as Mother Bar, promises to be a cozy, inviting wine bar. Although it may take a little longer to open — expected by April or summer — it will be worth the wait as they undergo extensive buildout and permitting. Mother Bar will focus on crafting a relaxed atmosphere, surrounded by plants that add a touch of natural charm. Patrons can look forward to a carefully curated selection of affordable wines, especially whites, and a variety of beers, mostly imports and staples. Dylan emphasized that their goal is to welcome everyone, including those who are new to wine tasting, with affordable options available by the glass and flights.

Delicious Bites and a Fun Community Feel

Foodies, rejoice! The menu at Mother Bar will feature a range of small bites or tapas that draw inspiration from their travels across Europe. Expect to find scrumptious offerings like flatbreads, charcuterie, and comfort foods that are sure to please any palate. With cozy seating arrangements and an inviting vibe, the bar is not just a place to sip wine but a perfect spot for trivia nights, gatherings, and community events.

Stay Connected with Jade and Dylan

As Jade and Dylan prepare to launch these exciting new establishments, they encourage the community to follow their journey on social media.
