Morristown Welcomes New Orthopedic Clinic with Exciting Developments

Hello, Morristown! We’re basking in some beautiful weather this week with sunny skies and temperatures reaching a lovely 72°F. It’s the perfect backdrop to highlight some exciting news in our community—especially for those in need of orthopedic care!

New Beginnings at KOC Lakeway

Last Friday, our town celebrated a significant milestone with the grand opening of the new clinic, KOC Lakeway, located conveniently at 381 Kuhn Drive. This facility aims to improve access to orthopedics for residents in the Lakeway region and is situated ideally between Covenant Health’s Morristown-Hamblen West and the Morristown Landing community center. Local officials and executives from Knoxville Orthopaedic Clinic (KOC) were in attendance, spreading excitement about the expanded services.

KOC’s CEO, Pete Pearson, shared his enthusiasm, stating, “We are excited about expanding our ability to provide orthopedic care in Morristown and in this Lakeway region.” He also reflected on KOC’s long history, which started back in 1941, emphasizing their commitment to being the top provider of orthopedic care in our area.

Bringing More Resources to Our Community

The new clinic is more than just a location; it signifies growth. KOC is consolidating its Jefferson City office into this beautiful new facility, allowing for better access from both Morristown and Jefferson County. It’s shaping up to be a fantastic addition to our health care landscape!

What’s exciting is that the new clinic is set to not only house general orthopedic services but will also offer specialized areas such as orthopedic hand surgery and pediatric orthopedics. Additionally, there will be an urgent care section dedicated to orthopedic injuries. Plans for 2025 include recruiting three new physicians, which will expand offerings in hand, foot, ankle, and spine care! Sounds like Morristown is going to have quite a robust medical facility at our fingertips.

Community Enthusiasm

Local government leaders were just as excited about the opening. Interim Hamblen County Mayor Chris Cutshaw expressed gratitude for KOC’s presence, humorously noting the many procedures his family has had performed there. “I think we’ve got a table named after us somewhere,” he joked. His enthusiasm echoes the sentiment in town—KOC is well known for its excellent care.

Morristown Council Member Tommy Pedigo also chimed in, highlighting that this clinic is a perfect example of Morristown exceeding expectations in healthcare. “This is a high five moment for Morristown,” he said, voicing what many of us feel as we welcome this valuable resource to our community.

Personal Connections in Healthcare

It’s not just about facilities and services, though. Dr. Paul Becker, a sports medicine surgeon and resident of our area, shared his personal connection to Morristown, recalling his own move here 24 years ago. He expressed not just a commitment to care but also a deep love for the community and the people in it. It’s touching to see healthcare professionals view their work as more than just a job—it’s a calling to take care of their neighbors.

Looking Ahead

As Morristown continues to develop and grow, having a state-of-the-art orthopedic clinic nearby is definitely a step in the right direction. With improved access to quality care, this new facility is sure to benefit not just individuals but our entire Lakeway community.

As we enjoy this lovely weather, let’s remember to take care of ourselves and support our local health facilities. Here’s to a bright future for KOC Lakeway and our wonderful town!
