Knoxville Area Transit Offers Free Rides to Polling Stations on Election Day

Knoxville Area Transit (KAT) will offer fare-free rides throughout Election Day in a bid to support voter turnout and ensure easy access to polling stations.

Facilitating Voter Participation

“Access to transportation is crucial for voter participation. We want to remove any barriers that might prevent people from getting to the polls,” the Director of Transit for the City of Knoxville informed.

Planning Your Trip

Passengers can plan out their route to the polling stations using the free Transit app or the trip planner feature available on the KAT website. For any kind of assistance, they may also contact KAT’s customer service at 865-637-3000.

Important Tips

  • Passengers are advised to plan their trips early to ensure they reach their polling locations on time.
  • As some routes may finish before polling stations close, planning ahead is deemed essential.

To find polling location, citizens are encouraged to visit www.KnoxVotes.org.

This initiative underlines KAT’s commitment to supporting civic engagement and ensuring that every voter can exercise their fundamental right to vote.
