Murder Suspect Still At Large After Knoxville Shooting

Shooting at The Pint House Restaurant

A tragic shooting occurred in the parking lot of The Pint House restaurant on Merchant Drive, as confirmed by the Knoxville Police Department (KPD). Two men were killed and one woman was injured in this assault that has upset the residents of Knoxville.

Two Victims and Two Suspects Identified

The Knoxville Police Department released the identities of the two victims. Zachery Herrera, a 28-year old security guard at the bar, and John Goosie, a 41-year-old patron, tragically lost their lives in this incident. They were reportedly approached and harassed by Kevin Matthews, 40, and Steven Davis, 36, the primary suspects in the shooting.

A Brutal Attack

An eyewitness reported that Matthews and Davis initiated harassment towards security guard Herrera. Goosie, a patron of the bar, reportedly attempted to diffuse the situation. The conflict escalated when Matthews brandished a gun and fired shots. Goosie and Herrera were fatally struck, while an unidentified woman was grazed by a bullet but survived.

The Aftermath

Herrera sadly passed away from his injuries at the University of Tennessee Medical Center where he was transported following the shooting. Goosie was pronounced dead at the scene. Matthews faces charges of first-degree murder, while Davis is being charged with aggravated assault and parole violation. Currently, Davis is in custody while Matthews remains at large.

Continuing Investigation

Law enforcement authorities located Davis in the parking lot of a Shell gas station on Asheville Highway. The search for Matthews, who remains at large, is ongoing.
