Meeting Details

The meeting will be held at Wesley Hall located at Fountain City United Methodist Church, which can be found at 212 Hotel Street, Knoxville. So mark your calendars and grab your neighbors because this gathering is open to everyone. No membership or prior registration is needed!

As many of you know, parking can often be a hot topic in our city, especially with the growth in population and increasing visitor traffic. The city is keen to create a balance between residents and the needs of those visiting downtown Knoxville. The meeting will focus on discussing your shared concerns and exploring potential solutions to the various parking challenges we face.

Meet the City Staff

City staff will be in attendance, including Grant Rosenberg, the Chief Operating Officer, along with Mark Elliott, the Parking Manager from the Transportation Engineering Division of City Engineering. They are here to listen and engage in meaningful discussions about parking in our neighborhoods.

How to Get There

When you arrive, be sure to enter through the door marked “No. 3” – it’s the entrance facing Hotel Street, which is the one furthest from Broadway. Once you step inside, a quick right-hand turn will lead you to Wesley Hall on your left. It’s as easy as that!

Weather Woes? No Problem!

In case the weather decides to act up, keep in mind that the meeting will follow the Knox County Schools cancellation policy. If schools are closed for the day, the meeting will also be postponed, so keep an eye on the forecast!

Why This Meeting Matters

Some of the insights shared during recent city council workshops revealed plans to continue free parking on nights and weekends. However, changes are on the horizon for Market Square Garage, which could impact many of us. The proposal suggests increasing on-street parking rates from $1.50 to $2.00 per hour. They also plan to introduce mobile apps to help with parking payments, making it easier to extend your meter time without any hassle.
