Knoxville, TN – Tragedy struck on a calm Friday evening as a pedestrian lost their life in a hit-and-run accident on Magnolia Avenue. The victim has been identified as Andrew Quayle, a 63-year-old man. This heartbreaking incident occurred around 7:45 p.m. on November 1, 2024, when Andrew was struck by a vehicle while crossing the street.
According to reports, Knoxville Police Department officers arrived at the scene of the crash only to find that the involved vehicle had fled the area before they could investigate. An urgent search for answers is now underway as officers piece together exactly what happened that night. As it stands, the vehicle in question is described as a black SUV or crossover and is believed to have been driven by a white male.
Witnesses reported that two individuals, a man and a woman, briefly exited the suspect vehicle following the collision before promptly getting back inside and making a hasty escape east on Magnolia Avenue. The quick actions of these individuals have left investigators looking for any clues that might lead them to the driver responsible for this tragic fatality.
This unfortunate incident has understandably shocked the local community. Friends and family of Andrew are coming together to remember him in this difficult time. The Knoxville Police Department is urging anyone who may have seen something or has any information about the crash to step forward.
