Farragut, TN – A serious hit-and-run incident has left a local student injured while waiting for a school bus. The Knox County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) is actively investigating the case, which took place early Thursday morning near the intersection of Thornton Drive and Hughlan Drive.

According to reports, the hit-and-run occurred around 7:30 a.m. A juvenile girl, who was waiting for her school bus, was hit by a vehicle that fled the scene. A passerby discovered the victim lying on the ground shortly after the bus arrived. The KCSO confirmed that the quick response from bystanders helped in alerting emergency services.

Victim’s Condition

The victim was soon transported to The University of Tennessee Medical Center. By the evening of the same day, authorities stated she was in critical but stable condition, which raised concerns among the community regarding the safety of students at bus stops.
