Residents of Knoxville, get ready for a special health event! On November 12, Remote Area Medical (RAM) is rolling into town with a free Telehealth Mobile Clinic. This fantastic one-day, medical-only clinic will be set up at the Steps House, located at 712 Boggs Ave, Knoxville, TN 37920. In case you’re wondering, RAM is a nonprofit organization renowned for offering free dental, vision, and medical care to those in need, and this event is a collaborative effort with Steps House.
This mobile telehealth unit will provide you with an opportunity to chat with a doctor right there in the van, while an in-person nurse will be available to assist you. Isn’t that neat? The best part? All services provided by RAM are completely free and offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Yep, you read that right! No ID or insurance is required, so you can walk in without any worries.
Once you arrive at the mobile unit, the friendly team will guide you through what to expect next. Doors swing open at 10 a.m., so make sure to get there early if you’re looking to snag a spot.
This particular clinic will focus on a range of medical services, including:
Do keep in mind that this is a medical-only clinic. Unfortunately, there won’t be any dental or vision services available this time around. But don’t be discouraged; there are plenty of resources to be gained!
Access to healthcare can sometimes feel like a rollercoaster ride, especially if you’re part of an underserved community. Thanks to RAM, this clinic is a fantastic opportunity to receive medical advice and care which may be tough to come by otherwise. And if you’re part of the Tennessee crowd looking for services, RAM regularly holds virtual telehealth clinics too! You can find the full schedule at their website.
If you want to be part of something bigger, consider checking out ways to donate or volunteer. Every bit helps in making healthcare accessible for everyone. You can reach out via www.ramusa.org or give them a call at 865-579-1530.
RAM advises everyone interested in receiving services to arrive as early as possible. In some cases, such as bad weather or volunteer cancellations, the clinic may serve fewer patients than expected. So it’s better to play it safe and be among the first in line!
Remote Area Medical has been on a mission since 1985, working tirelessly to provide free, high-quality healthcare to those facing barriers. With over 1,400 clinics and more than 940,000 individuals served, their impact on public health and community well-being is indeed impressive. Your health matters, so mark your calendars for the Telehealth Mobile Clinic on November 12 and take the first step towards better health today!
