Hey there, Knoxville! As the crisp autumn air sets in, there are some fantastic events lined up that you won’t want to miss. Whether you’re itching to get outdoors with your loved ones or dive into a rich cultural experience, this fall has something for everyone in East Tennessee!
First up, if you enjoy creative storytelling, you’ll want to mark your calendar for September 21, 2024! The Bloom Stage, in partnership with Poetry in the Boro, is hosting its very first event at the beautiful Rebecca Johnson Theatre in Historic Rugby. It’s titled “Diptychs, Doubletakes, and Doppelgangers: The Power of Two in Our Stories.” Starting at 7 PM, this live performance promises an evening jam-packed with storytelling, poetry, live music, and art.
The show will dive into the compelling themes that reflect duality in our human experiences—think love vs. hate, past versus present, and light against dark. It’s a great chance to ponder both contrasts and connections through an array of talented artists, both seasoned and fresh. And did you know that Kara Kemp, who is serving as Murfreesboro’s Performing Arts Laureate and is also a co-producer of Bloom Stage, has ties to our very own Knoxville Actors Co-op? That’s some local talent bringing the art right to our doorstep!
Admission is completely free, plus there’ll be refreshments after the show to keep the celebration going. How cool is that?
Next, we have the Mega Challah Bake, bringing women together for a beautiful night of unity and connection. On the same day, September 21, 100 Knoxville women will gather to reflect, connect, sing, and of course—bake challah! What a lovely way to prepare for the upcoming Jewish High Holidays! It’s bound to be an evening filled with joy and inspiration.
If you’re interested in celebrating diversity, the HOLA! FESTIVAL 2024 is the event for you! In honor of National Hispanic Heritage Month, JTV Jewelry Television is stepping up to support this vibrant festival, showcasing the rich cultures, music, dance, art, and delicious food of our Hispanic and Latino communities. It’s a wonderful opportunity to immerse yourself in a celebration of culture and community!
Also happening this Saturday, September 21, is the Knoxville Walk to End Alzheimer’s at Zoo Knoxville. Participants can honor those affected by Alzheimer’s through the poignant Promise Garden Ceremony. Each colored flower carried during the ceremony symbolizes personal connections to the disease—what a meaningful way to show solidarity in this critical fight. This event is the world’s largest to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support, and research. Make sure to check it out if you want to support a noble cause!
Looking for tips on staying fit as the kiddos head back to school? Workout Anytime Knoxville-Bearden and Maryville has you covered! Keep your fitness journey on track this fall with family-friendly activities to stay active together.
And y’all, if you’re on the lookout for some healthy options, check out Pure Green, a locally owned juice and smoothie bar! It’s fantastic to see more healthy choices popping up in our community.
And let’s not forget the upcoming SouthEast Horror events happening all around! Perfect for horror enthusiasts, it’s a space for fans to connect and explore chilling festivities. From creative events to spirited discussions, this is where Southeast love for horror comes alive!
So, there you have it, Knoxville! With a mixture of arts, community spirit, culture, and excitement filling our streets this fall, there’s plenty to experience. Gather your family and friends, and make some unforgettable memories!
