Well, mark your calendars because the University of Tennessee Gardens is about to make your fall gardening dreams come true with their annual fall plant sale.

Special Preview for Members and Volunteers

Starting off the festivities, there’s a special preview sale just for members, volunteers, and UT employees on Friday, October 4, 2024, from 4 PM to 7 PM. This is the perfect chance to get access to some fantastic plants before they’re available to the public. And if you’re not a member yet, no worries! You can sign up to become a member right at the event and enjoy a sweet 10% discount on your purchases!

Open to the Public

But wait, there’s more! The sale opens up to everyone on Saturday, October 5, 2024, from 9 AM to 2 PM. So grab your friends and family, and head over to discover a world of greenery. After you fill your cart with new plants, stick around for a free garden tour starting at 11 AM. You’ll get to explore the beautiful grounds and learn a thing or two about planning your space.

As if that’s not enough, at 12 PM, you can attend a special session on proper planting techniques hosted by Andy Pulte, a distinguished lecturer from UT Plant Sciences. This is a great chance to get hands-on tips and tricks from a pro!

Among the exciting offerings, you’ll find three standout dwarf native shrubs:
1. **Sugar Shack® Buttonbush**
2. **Sugartina® ‘Crystalina’ Clethra**
3. **Legend of the Small® Fothergilla**
These beauties are not only compact but are designed to offer landscape value and multi-season interest. Plus, keep an eye out for the award-winning **Black Hat® Rhododendron**, heralded as the 2022 Rhododendron of the Year by the American Rhododendron Society.
