Unique Edgar Allan Poe Speakeasy Dates Confirmed in Knoxville: Literature and Liquor Collide

Bringing a unique blend of literature and liquor to the city, the long-awaited Edgar Allan Poe Speakeasy has confirmed its dates in Knoxville. Devotees of the renowned 19th-century writer can look forward to an event that blends iconic stories with imaginative cocktails.

The unique speakeasy will run from July 18 to 20, with the aim of immersing attendees in a world of literary excitement and mixology magic. The event will be held at The Relix Venue on Central St.

Each installment of the Edgar Allan Poe Speakeasy will feature dramatic, live renditions of four of Poe’s most famous works. The live performances will be given a contemporary twist, ensuring a fresh and immersive experience for attendees. To enrich the literary journey, each story will be expertly accompanied with a carefully crafted cocktail for guests to enjoy during the 90-minute experience.

Enthusiasts of Edgar Allan Poe’s work can watch this captivating spectacle at varying times over the three-day period. Tickets for the speakeasy are available for sessions planned at 6 p.m., 8 p.m., and 10 p.m. on Thursday and Friday. On Saturday, fans can select from shows at noon, 2 p.m., 4 p.m., 6 p.m., 8 p.m., and 10 p.m.

Ticket prices range from $48 to $62, depending on the selected time slot and day of the performance. They can be purchased online via the event’s official website.

Live performances at the speakeasy will feature some of Poe’s most famous works like “The Tell-Tale Heart,” “The Raven,” “The Masque of Red Death,” and “The Black Cat.” To enhance the eerie ambience, each novel will be paired with a unique cocktail inspired by its narrative. The cocktail list includes delights such as the Pale Blue Eye, a refreshing mix of blueberry vodka, fresh lemon, rose syrup, and La Croix. The Cocktail of Red Death is a bold blend composed of 100-proof vodka, Cherry Heering, benedictine liquor, lime juice, pineapple juice, and bitters. The Edgar’s Twisted Brandy Milk Punch mixes together Kentucky bourbon, French brandy, vanilla cream, milk syrup, half and half, topped off with star anise. The final offering on the cocktail menu is the intriguing Nevermore, a mysterious mix of orange peach blossom, lime juice, and secret spices.

Edgar Allan Poe Speakeasy aims to be a truly individual and captivating experience for book lovers, providing a fusion of storytelling and mixology that is certain to make a lasting impression.
