East Tennessee Crews Restore Power Following Hurricane Beryl in Texas
Crews from East Tennessee have been contributing commendable efforts to aid Texas in the aftermath of the destructive Hurricane Beryl. Major utility service providers like KUB and Service Electric have dispatched teams to Houston to help local communities restore power.
Leaving a Positive Impact in Texas
“This is probably the worst Category one I’ve seen,” said a representative from Service Electric, who has been in Texas, leading his team to rapidly and efficiently clear debris and restore power to homes.
Noble Traditions of Assistance
“My team enjoys being able to assist in the aftermath of these storms, doing what we can,” the representative explained. The Tennessee native also discussed the main challenges currently being faced, which include the deployment and clearing of debris, as well as the clearance of downed power lines that are interfering with their work.
Reconstruction Amidst Ruination
Representatives shared that their teams are collectively focusing on restoring the main feeder lines of the power grid – considered the critical ‘backbone’ of the system. Once this task is completed, local households will begin to experience the return of power.
Presently, the hurricane’s aftermath has left more than a million homes in Texas lacking light, heat, and the ability to cook. The team from East Tennessee projects to spend approximately one additional week before they can successfully restore power to all affected homes.
