Knox County has set a brand new record for early voting in a presidential election, with a staggering 163,303 early votes cast. That’s approximately 10,000 more than just three years ago in 2020! To ensure everything runs smoothly, Chris Davis, the Administrator for the Knox County Election Commission, was seen working diligently at the commission’s westside office on a quiet Sunday. He noted, “We’re getting ready for election day at 78 locations across Knox County. Making sure workers are ready to go and, ultimately, to vote as many people as possible on November 5!”

These hard-working folks have been putting in 12-hour days ever since early voting kicked off two weeks ago! Chris recognized their efforts, saying there will be “plenty of work” on Tuesday.

With the buzz around town, Chris also mentioned, “If we get even a good election day, probably over 50-plus-thousand, we’ll break our all-time record in Knox County.” It’s safe to say that the influx of new residents over the past four years is changing the voting game.
