Exciting news is on the horizon for veterans at risk of homelessness in Knoxville! A brand new housing complex, Liberty Place, is set to open its doors in December, providing a much-needed safe haven for those who have bravely served our country. Situated on Division Street in West Knoxville, this innovative facility will feature 32 one-bedroom apartments designed to feel just like home.
A Cozy Home Away from Home
So what can residents expect when they step into Liberty Place? For starters, each apartment will come fully furnished! That means every new tenant will have access to everything they could possibly need — from furniture to kitchenware and more. Ben Bentley, executive director of the Knoxville Community Development Corporation (KCDC), is leading this grand initiative. He believes that Liberty Place will serve as a vital support system for veterans, coupling stable housing with additional aid through Veterans Affairs. “All in all, this is going to be a place of comfort and refuge for folks who have given back to the community and deserve a little help right now,” he said.
